Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
Am I going to have a problem running sessions but no time trial with an unclassed car? I don’t see my old wagon listed on the Touring list and don’t plan to run any time trials, so classification is somewhat irrelevant in my case.

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
I ended up with Kuhmo V730 tires and Hawk DTC-60 pads. Thank you for your very helpful comments. Now on to rotor cooling with some factory naca ducts below the FBC and some ducting to make it more effective.

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
The Miata will require a significant investment to get it track ready again including multiple sets of tires, new belts, some fender/suspension damage repair and another alignment. When all that is completed (next winter), I’ll weigh options for track time. The budget isn’t there this year. I have a...

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
NT01 is where I think I’m headed. 235/40/17 (stock size is 235/45/17 but unavailable from Nitto). I ran a set of these about 9 years ago on my Miata and I remember them being pretty durable, like the Toyo RR that I’ve been running ever since. I get a good 30+ heat cycles from the Toyos and they don’...

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
Thanks guys. The car: V70R, 4000# with standard Brembo calipers so pads should be easy to source. Rotors are around 13”. I’ve got vents in the FBC and will look into running some short brake hoses but I don’t want to spend hours and hours getting the car prepped for laps. As it stands now, I’ll be s...

Brake pads for heavy turds
Hi folks 👋 I need some input on track brake pads for 2 ton street cars. I’ve been using Hawk Blues on my Spec Miata for a decade and am more than happy with the bite and release characteristics of that pad after trying many other options. I like “tried and true.” Worst pad I’ve used for my driving s...

How about some brand/model discussion? My second (or maybe third) set of Carlisles is due for replacement soon on my open trailer. Loaded it weighs around 4500#.

Don't park near the generators if you don't like white noise. It puts me to sleep.

Re: Anyone have connections with Solar (PV) system installers in MA?
How tough is it for snow to melt with those panels all over your roof? I'd think that snow between the panels and the roof would stick around for a while, creating leakage issues. I'm constantly fight ice dams in the winter due to the strange roof lines (@8 different ones, plus dormers) all around t...

Ear plugs
What have you found are the best at keeping the "end of the day ear ring" away after a day on track? I've been using the orange foam ear plugs for years but I'm sure there are better options now from the likes of Eargasm, PQ, Adept, Hearheed, etc: noise reduction, noise canceling? I don't ...

DWW Motorsports in Ayer. Dave has built cages in many race cars and focuses on the finer points. I can think of at least a dozen currently raced Miatas with his cages. Half of them have crashed and survived. I think they ran a Mustang in Continental Challenge a few years ago so he knows your car.
