The officer asked if the car was registered - I said that it was not, but that I had a bill of sale. She did not ask to see it and sent us on our way. I will say that the ...

Ok - good advice - I will avoid the truck lanes. That sounds like it was a nightmare! I did call the US Border Patrol Office last night and they told me that a Bill of Sale should be sufficient.

Anyone have experience crossing the Canadian border recently with a track car that has no title or registration?
Seems like my best bet is to bring the bill of sale.
