Re: FS: NB Miata with rear damage - Bring a trailer
Bummer to see the car this way. I remember how clean it was.
Hopefully off to a good home to live on a race track again some day.
@scarbs, please say hello to your dad for me! - Paul G.

Re: 2021 T50 suspension rules question
I think so. Maybe another way to say it is: In general If you are installing a suspension component to gain an alignment range greater than factory then you take +1 point. You don’t have to take a 2nd point for the specific item not being factory spec. I don’t think the intent is “I can change this ...

Re: 2021 T50 suspension rules question
Right but “modified suspension components to align out of factory spec” is 1 point. Ball joints are 0 point. This makes me think that ball joints that allow alignment changes are free. I think that is incorrect. On my MX5 I’ve installed an offset lower metal bushing into my spindle where the ball j...

Re: Where to buy SA helmets locally
I purchased a new helmet from HMS this year. Selection was limited but I ended up with an Aria GP-7. I planned on an HJC for price reasons. They didn’t have a HJC carbon and the models they did have were heavier than my old helmet. After trying a Aria I was surprised at the quality, it fit better an...

Re: Not a formula car, but not a sedan
Be aware that many of our tracks on the schedule have pretty strict sounds requirements. If the car is loud you might want to consider added a muffler or resonator now to enjoy your time on track without issues. We see some stock factory sports cars get flagged for sound (Camaro SS, Mustangs, etc.) ...

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
Is there a reason you aren’t just running the spec Miata with us?
Could run it in touring or super and just a 205 Nitto last you all season for sure.
Lots of comparable cars and drivers to have fun with too.

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
Cy, great to hear you will be back attending events. The info above pretty much covers it. I agree with the RS4, RT660, or NT01 as your best options, lap times in that order too (slow to faster). I think with only doing Saturday events it's your pick on how fast you want to go vs. risk of them weari...

I think the BFG R1S is discontinued now, only the R1 is available and not sure it’s worth the price.

Re: Hey T40, what tires are you running?
You’ll have some options then with doing 1 day only. The RR I have not run before. They are faster than a Nitto initially but do drop off. When they do I’m not sure if they are similar to a Nitto or still better. There are other fast -2.5 to 0 point tires. Some are faster than the Nitto. AO52, Nanka...

Re: Hey T40, what tires are you running?
If you need 1 set of track tires to last the season then the Nitto is the answer. Just make sure you flip them by mid season to even out wear. I do that and have -2.8 / -2.5 camber. Still needs it. That is the tire most folks ran in T40 too, some use the RR but will cost more and cycle out quicker. ...

How loud are these things? Track noise restrictions are getting more difficult.
These are really cool looking.
