Hey Chris,
what type of tow vehicle do you have? I have a 18 foot open trailer which requires a brake controller. The Uhaul trailers are surge brakes which do not require a brake controller so just keep that in mind regardless of who's trailer you go with. I live in Weymouth, MA.

Re: iRacing Hardware: Show us what you got
I had a geek friend build me one off of one he had laying around with a i7 core already in it. He gave me a good deal for it. This is my machine and I can run it at max setting iirc. Intel i7 4790 Quad-Core 3.6GHz Taisol 2 ball bearing CPU fan and cooler HyperX Fury 16GB RAM (4GB x 4) 512 GB SSD + S...

Re: Sim racing advice
In terms of "cheap", you can run iRacing on a pretty basic system if you plan on only using one screen. Many people do it. I get schooled by people in Spain probably running a Core2 Duo and a single 22" monitor. You should be able to put together a budget, fairly high performance com...

Re: Suggestion for changing time trial format
What if we tried a mock gridded time trial session, the morning of the normal TT day, as a feeler? We could do 2 sessions of time trial instead of the 2 practice sessions. We could do it at a track familiar to everyone (nhms, maybe). OR, something i've been wanting for years. What if we simply grid...

Re: Suggestion for changing time trial format
Yes if we did 20 minutes of timed sessions everyone would definitely need to change their strategies. For years it's been 2 tires, one for practice, one for the TT. Often times that TT is a softer compound which heats up quickly due to only having 3 laps to make it count. But think about it this way...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poEZl1HsN9c Here's my fastest lap of the TT. I love this track but I am dissapointed I missed out on most of day 1 with a mechanical issue. I felt like toward the latter end of open track I got into a better groove but still wish I could have had more time out there....
