SSU Air Filter Rules

When I bought my 2004 Corvette Z06 last year, it had a K&N air filter installed. As far as I know, this is the only item on the vehicle which is not from GM's factory. Since the rules state that "Any make oil, air, and/or fuel filter elements are allowed" for a Showroom Stock vehicle, ...

Re: Footwear at Events

That's an awesome shirt. Sadly, there is not enough time left to order and receive it before the event... Plus, you know, it's not long-sleeved (as is the requirement in the rule-book). Anyway, I'll interpret your humorous response as a thumbs up for dress shoes. I'll probably bring another pair wit...

Driving in the Rain

It is looking like Mont Tremblant will be seeing some rain on Tuesday. When driving in an event while it is raining, what do you do about rain getting in the open windows? Any tips / tricks / suggestions?

Footwear at Events

What kinds of shoes are permitted / recommended? The rules mention a few things you shouldn't wear, but otherwise simply state that you should have "suitable footwear." If possible, I would like to wear slip-on dress shoes. I have attached a picture of my shoes, although the set in the pic...

Re: Vinyl Letter Size Tolerance

Thanks for the quick reply. They are white against a dark blue car, so hopefully there won't be any issues. I'll bring some contact paper and / or a sheet of extra white vinyl just in case I have to put something together at the last minute.

Vinyl Letter Size Tolerance

I purchased some vinyl decals online, and I received them today. I ordered 4" letters, but they are actually 3.75" measured. Will this be within tolerance?

Re: Where to Buy Letters / Numbers

Dave_G , thanks for the suggestion. If I go with pre-made vinyl lettering / numbering, I'll use Solo Performance . It sounds like they have exactly what I'm looking for! 962porsche , Con-Tact paper is a great idea! That never crossed my mind. My car is dark blue. I really appreciate your offer to s...

Where to Buy Letters / Numbers

Where do you guys get your letters and numbers for your vehicles? I've done some research and found a few places online which sell vinyl decals, but I've never purchased any before and wish to know the places you guys frequent. I'd want something which could stay on for a few days and then come off ...

Dashboard Video Cameras

How strict are the tech inspectors about cameras on the dashboard? Are they looking for anything fancy, or are they mainly concerned that the camera isn't going to break loose? Would a digital camera stuck to the dashboard be OK as long as it's secured well enough not to break free? Obviously, the i...

Event Dangers and Dual-Purpose Cars

Mont Tremblant will be my first COMSCC event. I plan on driving to and from Mont Tremblant in the same vehicle I intend to use on the track (it's a Showroom Stock vehicle). Is this common? How many people do this? On a related note, how dangerous are these events? How common are collisions or mechan...

Clarification for Passenger Rules

Firstly, I apologize if I am covering ground which has already been tread before. I would like some clarification about the rules concerning having a passenger with you during your time on the track at an event. The rules state that "one occupant" must be "a COM instructor or a person...
