Re: Punkin Chunkin going on at NHMS at the same time

"Pumpkin chucking, or for rhyming purposes Punkin Chunkin and Pumpkin Chunking, is the sport of hurling or 'chucking' a pumpkin solely by mechanical means for distance. The devices used include slingshots, catapults, centrifugals, trebuchets, and pneumatic cannons." Google is your friend. :D

Re: How did You hear about COM?

Hi Don. Yes, I remember saying something like that :P As I think I posted on the forums, the Cuda is now on the West Coast and set a muscle car record on Pike's Peak (go to Youtube and enter "Cuda Pike's Peak).

LOL. Will do, but the 'Cuda is still out West setting records. Not sure I approve of the owner's driving style, though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmgIrveVOT4

Re: I have the reaction time of a 19 year old! (in a good way...)

I don't think raw reaction time is that important compared to factors that determine how and when you perceive a hazard (eyesight, experience) and factors that determine what you do when you do react - factors like rapid decision making (brake, turn right, turn left), experience in similar situation...

How do you even buckle your harness with the latch against your gut?

Moral of the story is "Don't do stupid shit."

Re: 1965 Shelby GT 350 R Model replica

Great sounds. I always wanted to drive the Sebring course - but I do miss the old esses.

I believe I was there when the MGCs ran. At about that time, I was working as a BMC mechanic at Commonwealth Chevy in Boston, and I got to work on the street versions.

Re: Reminder to everyone: Check your wheels for damage.

Had that happen to the left rear on my Cuda going over the top of turn 1 at Mt Tremblant. Symptom was a sudden loss of air. I didn't figure it out until I was at the gas station trying to re-inflate the tire.

Re: Grooving tires

Once you go to the trouble and expense of creating a set of dedicated rain tires, you can be sure that it will never rain again when you're at the track.

Re: Mazda Shootout

To be really precise, COM started as "Corvettes of Massachusetts" , briefly changed to "Clarks of Maine" during the early '90s, but has definitely become "Club of Miatas" in its current incarnation.
