As a thought, would it be possible to have a list posted of the instructors and the cars they drive. As a newbie or an experienced driver it would be nice to know who to contact for advice or maybe a ride along. Having switched from a powerful Miata to a Mustang, it would be great to get some tips from someone for setup, tires, brakes, driving line, etc. Just a thought.

Hi, I am Stephan (Instructor). I drive a 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 in SSC (new for 2007) class. I personally think it's the most beautiful car on the track... certainly the one with most body roll...
I do not believe it matters what cars instructors drive as they as there to show you the line, have good observation on the track on flagging, point-bys and ensuring you have control - repeat control - of your car.
Granted there are techniques about driving small vs. large bore cars, but this is gained from driving exposure at the race track.
You are always most welcomed to ride shotgun with instructors (if they have a spare seat...in the case of Bruce I don't think you'd want to sit on the wings of his formula ...).
Also it's important that you have fun while you learn. I believe all members of COM are there to help you. I have never seen such camaraderie anywhere else. This is an awesome club with a high regard for safety and ensuring you have a good learing experience.
Hope to see you at the banquet (Jan-13th).
Welcome aboard!

Re: instructor identification
An idea for a way to accomplish this would be to flag the time trial results of the instructor cars so anyone could know the names of instructors that competed. Mark S.? Or maybe there is no problem listing the names of instructors on the Web site like officers. Carl? Contact info would be available only if the instructor listed themselves in the directory as presently done.KMMotorsports1 wrote:As a thought, would it be possible to have a list posted of the instructors and the cars they drive. Somehow I missed this one earlier, sorry for the delay.
At events, I usually post all the run groups with names, car number, and class. They are printed on 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper and taped to a vertical surface somewhere in the area of the drivers meeting. On school day, Group 0 consists of all instructors.
