2016 Helmet requirement

Are we still going to be able to use a SA2005 helmet in 2016 or will a newer SA2015 helmet be required ??

SA2005s are now obsolete..but SA2010s are still fine,and of course SA2015s.

From the rule book:

"The Snell Foundation revises its standard every 5 years. The 2015 standard is set, but M and SA 2015 helmets will not be on sale until after Oct 1 2015. COMSCC’s policy is to update this rule every 5 years to ensure helmets are no more than 10 years old. Therefore, after the 2015 season, this rule will be changed to remove 2005 helmets and require either 2010 or 2015 helmets. COM reserves the right to reject for use any helmet that appears damaged or otherwise unsafe."

There is some other clubs that are still allowing the 2005 because the 2015 rating came out so late and the helmets were late getting certified......... just saying and am not sure if anyone else has heard of it

The 2015 helmets have been on sale since October. The BOD has discussed, and we are not relaxing our rule on this.

Show up with a 2010 or 2015 helmet please, or I will be the bad guy sending you home, and I'd rather not.

Yup…that's all my heads worth..$130….. I'm gonna try a fresh air pump this year…may cut down on the sweating...
