Formula 1 Cup Racing in Boston

Post by SEISAN » Fri May 22, 2015 1:22 pm

I just heard on the news that it was leaked that Formula One Cup Racing is coming to Boston in 2016. Apparently it will be on the streets of South Boston with a track length of about 2.2 miles. More information to come soon

That will be great and so close to home.

See you in Palmer,

SnB.

It's Indycar not F1 but still very cool.

Thanks Dave I heard it so fast I did not get all the information. Sound like a great event blasting up Broadway, a quick turn on L street and then along the beach. I'm going.

IRL did basically the same thing in Baltimore a few years ago:

Absolutely punishing course for the cars/drivers - cruising over bumpy old roads, it looks like they could pop right out of the car.

I was at the ALMS Grand Prix of Baltimore in 2012 and it was entertaining but definitely a mess. I didn't stick around for the IRL double header, but I am sure that was even worse on the cars

I'd prefer a road course (LRP)

over a street course any day

but either makes for a great race day, so I'll definitely be up at Boston for this!
