Helmet help
Helmet help
So my new Bell K1 Sport arrived this week and I'm in the process of transferring my HANS anchors over from my old helmet. The K1 is pre-drilled but doesn't have any backing plates between the hard padding and the shell to put the screw in to. I'm trying to figure out how to slide my old backing plates in, but they're too thick, and the hard padding on the K1 doesn't seem removable. Anyone ever installed anchors into a helmet like this? Any tips? Am I missing something???

Re: Helmet help
with the 100's of helmets I airbrush I run into the same thing all the time .
the wrench the has system comes with you will need .
put the big nut/washer combo on the wrench and push hard it will slide up into were it has to be .
some times you have to slide a stiff putty knife up between the helmets shell and the impact liner 1st but this on bell helmets is not always necessary .
don't worry about thinking your going to damage the helmet if you have to push real hard just work the wrench and nut up to were it needs to be .
