Wanted - E46 M3 Springs
Wanted - E46 M3 Springs
I want to un-slam my wife's E46 M3 and go back to OEM ride height and stiffness.
Does anyone have a set of original springs kicking around that they want to sell?
My understanding is that convertible and coupe springs are the same.

Re: Wanted - E46 M3 Springs
Hi Carl:
I will be "slamming" my e46 330i (2001) prior to first COM event and I am not sure if the springs will fit or be suitable for Wendy's car. Mine is a 2001 330i Sports Package E46. I have the new lowers and beefier springs already so you are welcome to take the originals.
If Wendy's springs are similar to the ones I still have in the box we may work on a swap then? I have my other springs still in a box ( H&R Sports Spring set).
I was planning on installing if in March after the winter so the car does not be too low for winter driving.
The springs are relatively new, changed by the dealer when I got this car in early 2012. Let me know. You can have the springs for free if they fit Wendy's car.
Tks
Stephan

Re: Wanted - E46 M3 Springs
Stephan, thank you for the offer. I want only the OEM M3 springs, no substitutions. However, you are welcome to have the unknown springs that I remove from the car.
(I found a set of fronts, now just looking for the backs.)

Re: Wanted - E46 M3 Springs
Carl - I did a little perusing through my usual forum classifieds and came across this listing: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthre ... ht=springs
He's selling the full suspension, but given the price drop he may be willing to split up - or it could be cheaper/easier to get the whole setup from this guy and just go with new struts as well.
I have no association to this dude, just passing along the listing...

Darn it!
That's exactly what I needed. Too bad I'm in the middle of settling on a price for the other listing.

FREE - H&R E46 M3 Lowering Springs
OK, I did the spring swap. So now I have these used H&R springs, free to anyone who can use them.
They are obviously dirty and have some surface rust. Next stop, the scrap pile.
