Resource Book

Post by SEISAN » Tue Jul 23, 2013 12:14 pm

To all members:

It was mentioned a while back that we should have a Resource Book for when we go the tracks and for some unexpected reason we need parts, tire changes, extra equipment, and an assortment of other things. Some tracks have the facilities and others do not so we have to go searching for it. On many occassions its a long drive till we find it or spend time on the internet looking while we should be on the track. I snapped a lug in NH a couple of years ago and after after several phone calls found a place with them. VIP Parts. ( I also ran into Liz baker who was getting a tire repaired at the same place ). Just this past week we had a driver order parts at NJ on Thursday and they were shipped overnight and he received them on Friday.

If you have gone to any facilities either for parts or emergency repairs at any of the tracks we use and have had good results. Let us know on this thread. I will compile a list and maybe it will come in handy and save you some track time in the future.

I will arrange them in this order:

Track:
Name:
Location:
Tel: number

Let me know what your thoughts are and if you would like to add to this.

Thanks,

Bob

Sounds like a great idea Bob.

Maybe start it out as a google doc so you can invite other people to make edits directly? Then folks can bring a printed copy to the event in question if the like.

NJ had the local NAPA which would deliver any part that had in stock or could order.
Track: NJMP
Name: NAPA Auto Parts
Location: Millville
Tel: number: (856) 825-3800

The parts ordered by Steve Cohen were from Jegs, just a regular internet catalog but with a fast shipping option. Steve said the folks at the track were most cooperative and allowed him to use their computer and telephone to search for parts and order. The parts were delivered by Fed-ex to the front gate, and one of the track staff hand delivered the parts to Steve.
