Event Immediately Prior to NHMS-3

Post by dradernh » Tue Jul 24, 2012 8:58 pm

The North Atlantic Audi Club is having an event on August 23 - 24, immediately prior to NHMS-3, so anyone looking for more track time before the TT might want to consider this. Right now it looks like there are still about five slots open in the advanced group. Further info here: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/ ... 95B09DDB91.

If it's not kosher to post for other club's events, please remove, Mr. Moderator. :)

We are friends with Audi club (and lots of others Sports Car Clubs as well!), even with some instructors also volunteering there (they are such track junkies!).
Fundamental difference between car clubs doing HPDE (High Performance Driving Experience) is that you CANNOT time yourself on track (and don't even think about it, they will throw you out). This is manily due to insurance reasons and thus not considered "race".
I think it's a huge difference from the experience you have with COM (btw, I am not bragging, it's an observation). If you have $$ for both, much better for your overall skill improvement.

I can't imagine they're running the oval. Audi events are generally as low-key as they come. Jeff undoubtedly knows more.

I'd suspect Chicane/Chicane.

Per past board member posts the configuration for COM NHMS events is suppose to alternate between CC and SO. That would mean the NHMS3 event should be SO and thus I would imagine the Audi event the day before probably is too. Unless the track is changing it just for us. 8)

The change takes what 5 minutes to pick up the cones? We could just have Troy do it since they are his responsibility now anyway. It's not like switching from full oval where they have to move the concrete blocks at T3.

I received an email from Mark Viola of White Mountain BMW saying the same thing, so I sent Mike Collier an email a week ago offering to take a student for one of the two days. I haven't heard back from him yet.
