ST and intake air temperature sensors

In response to a protest, the Scrutineers have discussed the legality of adding an air temperature sensor to support an aftermarket ECU in Street Touring.

While recognizing that a more restrictive interpretation is possible, the majority of the Scrutineers felt that the present wording of the rules can reasonably and fairly be interpreted to allow the use of IATs if they are required in order to install a legal aftermarket ECU.

For the remainder of 2011, we will treat such sensors as legal.

For 2012, we plan to press for clarification of this rule to remove any ambiguity.
