$150 SCCA practice day. Open passing and NASCAR 1+2. We'll be there.

Does one need SCCA license to attend this or is my COM license enough?

They will accept your COM licensemike140 wrote:Does one need SCCA license to attend this or is my COM license enough?

I assume this means the oval? Are you sure about that? Last open track they used chicane/chicaneCP wrote:$150 SCCA practice day. Open passing and NASCAR 1+2. We'll be there.

I think the rule is that all cars need full cages and head and neck restraints to run the oval, which is why COM doesn't use it. Since the open test doesn't have tech and some cars show up without cages, I'd be surprised if they use the oval.
Re: Open Testing NHMS 4/29/11
We'll be driving the oval tomorrow...and every practice day before an SCCA weekend. There's no tech that I've ever seen, however I wouldn't show up without a full cage. Half the cars out there are racing all day long and flaggers are usually at a minimum.

Re: Open Testing NHMS 4/29/11
I just called NHMS to figure out what the deal is. They are using north/soutch chicane. They said SCCA usually runs the oval but since it is an open test day they cannot allow the configuration to be chicane/oval. It runs 9-12 and 1-5. 150 for the whole day or 100 for 1-5.

Re: Open Testing NHMS 4/29/11
SCCA believes the chic/chic config. is dangerous and will not use it on their days or races.

Sorry for the mis-information. Every practice day I've ever been to there has run the oval.

Thanks for the info everyone.
So, should I not bother showing up in a stock car (no cage)? I can't find anything on NER's website.

I would not. Street or otherwise non "caged" cars do not belong at SCCA test days!mike140 wrote:Thanks for the info everyone.
