WTB: Miata 15x7 wheels

Post by robster707 » Sun Nov 21, 2010 6:39 pm

Looking to get into racing this coming spring and my 14s wont cut it. Looking for used set of rims that will fit my 2000 Miata; with or without tires.

Dave Guertin may still have a set of nearly new minilite style wheels. I think they are 15x6 and fit 205s. I ran them on my 99 Miata for just a little bit and then sold them to Dave (Dave_G is his user name here I think). He said they didn't fit well on his Miata, so wanted to sell them, but they might be perfect for you. These are the wheels that Ireland Racing sells for early BMW models.

Yeah, I've still got them. They're 15x7, but the offset is 20mm, which is pretty low for a Miata and the reason I couldn't use them. They might fit on yours, though. PM me if you're interested.

Hey, thanks for the quick response. That offset is a little low for my car, which requires around 45, but thanks for the heads up.

Good to know people are on the ball on these forums!

Plan ahead for your SCCA drivers schools. Get an appointment for the physical NOW and send in your paperwork way in advance. Read the GCR and make sure your car is legal and up to safety standards. Not sure where you're located but preseason tech can be performed in March at several locations in New England. I had my first tech done at Summit Point at the March school. The NER schools this year are in June (LRP) and July (NHMS), so you won't be able to race until then if you don't attend any of the earlier schools (Summit Point and NJMP in March). Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Let me know if you want to sell your 14" wheels. I need a set for street tires for winter storage - my 14's now have Hoosier Wets on them thanks to NJMP's monsoon racing...

I did run those wheels on my 99 miata (maybe had a thin spacer...can't remember) and didn't notice any problems. My suspension package had KYB shocks and FM lowering springs. I didn't roll the fenders.
