Strut Bar

Post by OBrien839 » Tue Nov 02, 2010 9:22 pm

Hi all,

A friend of mine who lives in the Midwest has started a side gig fabricating strut bars. He has generously offered to make me one for a WRX I am waiting to take delivery on. :D

From reading the rule book it seems i would be moved up to the ST class with a strut bar installed. Because I use my car for work and put a good number of miles on it, my plan is to keep the car stock (except brakes and tires) in the short term.

Do you think its worth moving up to the ST class if this is my only upgrade? Does having one make a huge difference in the handling/cornering power of the car?

You wont notice any difference. Anyone who says they can is lying, or just trying to sell more strut bars. The thing they are good for is preventing flex at the strut tops which can help with longevity of the chassis.

Did you consider just removing it for the time trials? Usually they're super easy to remove.. just a thought.
