Re: BFG g-Force R1
I used them most of last season. Definitly slower than the V710s I ran before.
I'd say they were incrementally faster than RA1s...if a comparison is to be made to a 'known'
Also, I struggled getting them right because the sidewalls are rather stiff compared to what I was used to. In my case, with a lightly loaded front, it required running considerably less pressure to get them to grip, than I had been accustomed to with other tires.
Once I figured it out and didn't fear front pressures as low as 29psi hot, they were 'okay' (not more)
They wore very well though, so they may still last me a few outings this year.
In my case, I don't think I'd buy them again, but I suspect that on a heavier car they will be a lot better

Re: BFG g-Force R1
I have tried BFG R1's for autocross and track, and I found them OK,but no where near as good as V710's. On the Atom (1750lbs. with driver) the R1's never seem to heat up and become consistent.
At autocross,they never get gooey.
They do wear well. Haven't worn a set out yet. Maybe because I avoid using them,,

Re: BFG g-Force R1
I'm also looking into getting a set of BFG R1's and I have heard good things about them. Most of the people I have heard from are the ones driving EVO's and STi's also vette's as well. Of course, these cars are in the 3K range in weight and BFG holds up very well in terms of temps, and they last long too for heavy cars.
Like the above poster mention that their vehicles are very light weight and couldn't get them to heat up. I assume these tires are design for heavier cars and works well too.
I drive a STi and therefore, I think they are fit me nicely.

I agree...they should work well on a STi, whereas in my case, I only have about 960lbs on my front tires.

Tommy, I suggest you add a couple hundred pounds of ballast to your front endI only have about 960lbs on my front tires.
See you in June if I get my motor put together by then. (No big mods - just repairing damage)
