Back to Restraints

Post by 6PAK72 » Sat Feb 21, 2009 6:05 pm

So, now that the seatbelts on the TR are new and the seat locks are working - that was fun - we're installing the restraints (i/o port).

The harness ends in a welded steel circle ring too small for the lap belt webbing to pass through safely.

Would the safety committee consider a stainless steel 3" x .330 threaded-lock "D" ring slipped over the lap belt webbing and retaining the restraints as a safe system? I ran out the car today (Brrr - British heat) and tested the length and position of the restraints and they do not interfere with wheel or gearshift access.

Restraints is what got me into this multiple-hundred dollar predicament! :?

Thanks, trying to do it right...
