Motorheads - Movie night

Post by StephanAlfa » Wed Jan 28, 2009 4:25 pm

For those who got the message and did not go you missed a great movie last night at the Lars Anderson Museum in Brookline, MA:
Motorheads - A Night at the Movies
Wed, Jan 27, 2009, 7 - 10pm
Michael Keyser's: "The Speed Merchants"
Larz Anderson Auto Museum, Brookline, MA

Those "speed merchants" were Mario Andretti, Jackie Ickx, Vic Elford, Helmut Marko, Brian Redman and a whole bunch from the old days racing Ferrari and Alfa Prototypes in all kinds of events: Le Mans, Targa Florio and even at Watkisn Glen ... very cool.

I spoke with Mortorhead's Peter Bourassa and perhaps some of their members can also be COM members.
I did send them an open invitation to come and see our COM events.

They will be posting our COM schedule posted there too!

Oo, oo! You're talking about one of my favorite racing movies! The Speed Merchants is actually one of the few DVDs I own, and it occupies a special place on the shelf right next to Le Mans. I highly recommend it. For those of you (like me) who missed it the other night, here's a short clip on YouTube. It's from one of my favorite sections of the movie, where Vic Elford describes the now-long-departed Targa Florio:

It's great stuff!
