This car was built in 2004 for the SCCA American Sedan category and raced 3 times in 2005. It has been in storage since that time. The car competed in 3 national races, finishing 3rd at NHIS in the rain, 3rd at Limerock setting fast lap and DNF at Watkins Glenn with a dropped valve. The car is being sold with the still broken motor, but otherwise everything is extremely fresh. The installed k-member will accept a 302 or 351W and the included original k-member would allow installing a newer modular motor.
General:
- SCCA logbook
- 3000 lb dry weight without ballast but with very large battery
Suspension:
- Front weight jacks adjustable from engine compartment
- Rear weight jacks adjustable from interior
- Custom valved Bilstein shocks and struts
- Custom 3-link rear suspension (optimized to eliminate brake hop)
- Stock car style adjustable rear sway bar
- Stock car style adjustable front sway bar mounted below k-member to allow unobstructed brake cooling.
- 12” x 1.1” Front brakes (PBR calipers) with 4” brake ducts and custom brake backing plates. Easily upgraded to 13” (stock Cobra) rotors. ½ race on new pads and rotors.
- 12” x 0.8” Rear brakes (PBR calipers).
- Cockpit mounted brake proportioning valve.
- Del-alum front control arm bushings, spherical bearings in rear control arms.
- Height adjustable Panhard bar.
Drivetrain:
- Ford 9” live axle rear end with 3:89 gears and Detroit locker differential.
- Tremec TR-3550 transmission.
- Ford 302 with GT-40 (not P) heads. Block is cracked, not sure if head is OK.
- Competition Carburetion built Holley 600 CFM carb.
- Ford Motorsport tig welded headers, ceramic coated.
- MSD 6 series ignition
- X-pipe and Dynomax race magnum mufflers
- Carter high capacity electric fuel pump with cartridge fuel filter
- Griffin Aluminum radiator
- Fluidyne oil cooler
Safety:
- TIG welded cage designed and built by Kurt Weiss (Kages by Kurt)
- Top line Kirkey road race seat
- 15 Gallon Fuel Safe Pro cell with dual pickups
- 5 Lb Halon Fire system

Is the motor in it a 50oz balance or 28? Are those 17x9.5" wheels all around? Do you know what size(17,18") the seat is,or how big was the driver the car was set up for? What kind of clutch is in the car and is it cable operated? Rear diff have a cooler? Thanks.

I've seen this car in person and it is very nicely done. Beautiful cage and very clean. Usually the AS cars ran on 16" rims and tires. If you want to see what one of Scott's former motors looks like when he's done with it- I have it in a box in my shop- a very small box

The motor is a 50 oZ. As I noted the block is cracked, so not sure it matters. The balancer is an ATI with a removable counter weight. I believe the motorsport billet flywheel in it also has a removable counter weight, but I am not positive about that.
The wheels are 16" x 8" which is the Asedan rule. There is only the one set for the car with an old set of Hoosier rains mounted.
The seat is a 16" I believe. I am 5' 9" about 150 lbs.
The clutch is cable operated. It has a Forte's adjuster. The pressure plate is the light weight Ford motorsport unit (M-7563-D302?). The clutch disk is a 5 puck design with a spring mandrel.
The diff does not have a cooler (not allowed actually). The SCCA national races are only about 40 minutes long so it really wasn't needed. The Detroit locker diff is not temperature sensitive like a clutch type. There is a catch can plumbed into the RH axle tube.

Hey Scott, hope all is well. I see you waited till the economy completely tanked to sell. DUH. Sold the GT car last year. Are you still waiting to sell the AS car before the trailer. If you have not already, advertise on the NASA website. They still have an active AS type run group. Say high to Sue.

I needed to re-claim the garage space which is why I put it up for sale now. The car is sitting on the trailer, so I can't easily sell the trailer out from under it... I'm surprised to hear that you sold the GT2, but you never were very sentimental about your race cars. If this car can't sell at this price, then I'm afraid that all hope is lost and the clubs and tracks are going to be loosing an awful lot of money next year.
