I will share the track evaluation that led to the cancellation:

I just returned from the track...... I was able to make it around the oval in a AWD vehicle for the first time since November However except for the double width pass that the snowblower has made the snow is still really deep. The front straight looks as though it might make it before too many more days however between turns 2 and 3 the snow is about 2 feet deep and the bottom 4 or 5 inches is ice. He has gotten up over the hill with 1 pass so far. That will most likely melt off fairly well with the March sun except for turn 9 thru 10 and turn 6 that will be slow. The snow in NASCAR 2 to the exit of NASCAR 1 is almost 4 feet deep up near the wall that will end up being shoveled by hand in much of that area pit lane is 2 plus feet deep he has made a couple of passes there but it will be slow going. Snowbanks in the garage areas and infield are still well over 8 to 10 feet tall and they all have to be moved with the front end loader but the main focus is the track itself. I have looked at the 10 day forecast and it looks as though we will continue with a very slow melt as most of the days will be low to mid 40's. Given that, I feel that in all fairness we have no real choice but to cancel the 7th and 8th. You need time to notify your people. We will post it on the nhms web site today.

i guess this solves my problem the race car is ready and all though i'm able to load & unload it from the car trailer, i can't get the tow vehicle in front of the trailer to hook up because of 3 feet of hard pack snow/ice all around it, i was working a deal with the neighbor up the block to bring his backhoe....for a small fortune!
well... .. there's always WG to look forward to
i'm having an adrenaline withdrawal attack

I can see where they're coming from. Street tires give more feedback (they "howl" when pushed too hard), and they are more forgiving (i.e., less surprise -- R-compound tires stick right up to the giving point and then let go).breakaway500 wrote:NEQ does not allow V710's for people not signed off to solo.
Strange restriction in my eyes.

Hmm.I find I have much better feel for my V710's than my Azenis on the exact same car, same track, same day.
Yes,the Azenis do make noise, but their break point gives the same amount of warning as the V710s do.No less,no more.
If anything,I can usually save the car on the V710's but not the Azenis.(or any other street tire I have tried)
The V710's do instill a great deal more confidence at the same speed over the Azenis.
Possibly this is why they do not want non solo drivers using "race" rubber.
