Vehicle dynamics: some definitions

Post by BrakeL8r » Thu Mar 22, 2007 1:00 pm

Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the rear of the car
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall
Torque: how far you take the wall with you

I can't take credit for this. This was sent to me by Mike Wilson.

I know of a Camaro on the South "Roval"... Louis M.
I know of a Subie from a regular blogger on turn 9 (but this is a brake issue, not uver/under/all wheel steer issue) ...
I know of a flying power flip up at LRP in a Nissan ... Mike G.
I guess Jason has the record ...

The camaro is all fixed and safe in my driveway.
BTW: the antilock brakes sealed my fateful meeting with the wall.
