I beg to differ. Nascar Cup and Busch cars ARE derived from race track only engineering design. They have tube frames, exotic suspensions, engine set back, etc, all designed exclusively for their NASCAR divisions. Note, the car under discussion was a Busch car, and as stated by the OP, tube frames, rolled out body parts. What part of that is not race track engineered?

My vote would be PA, all other discussion considered.

I also would like to point out that "kit" cars running in COM SP classes must have all equipment necessary to pass NH inspection, so they fit into SP quite nicely.

Exotic suspension? Basic upper/lower control arms with ball joints, coil springs and shocks up front and a solid axle hung by trailing arms off a 60's Chevy pickup truck out back...hardly "exotic"!

Great, if that is the only point you seem to take issue with, let's classify the suspension as highly engineered, well beyond throwing on a set of coilovers.

Please don't let this discussion discourage you from coming to an event and running what ya brung.

The important things are that you want to come and drive your machine with us, that you are safe in it, and that the car is in a very good state of prep and maintanence. The class it fits in really is of secondary concern to these.

We'll find a slot for you. :)
I agree! Just call it PA, or SPA. No one will complain

People would complain if you entered it in SPA. But I think you'll probably be fine in PA.

Obviously it turns out that a number of people knew more about these cars than I did!
