It is too bad that it is such a long drive because the track rental fee is incredibly cheap

Not sure what it is now but it use to be about $500 a day.

From my house it's almost exactly the same travel time to VIR. Prolly more than $500/day there.

For this trip, would any of you trailer folks have room for a set of miata tires? or better still, a miata?

Being one of the trailer-less folks, I might need some help getting up there.
