Mosport to do list
Re: Border crossing
My car is totally scratch built, how do I prove ownership?Don P wrote:Proof of purchase/ownership applies only to non registered cars. Could be a street legal to dedicated track rat, always one being towed. Your license plate on the vehicle you're driving is checked automatically to match the other info they'll ask for (name, where do you live , etc)...
No VIN or previous owner. Maybe a few junk yard receipts.

Bill of Sale from someone to you?
When we go to PEI for the autoX, the guys with the open wheel cars stop at the U.S. customs as they cross the border and fill out a form to declare the goods. Guy comes out looks at their cars, nods his head, says yep, stamps the form and off they go. When they return to the U.S. they have a document showing the goods originated in the U.S.

I trailered through Canada this past Sunday to Dearborn. No problems at either end. Just a birth certificate & MA license. They didn't ask for documentation on the car. Going to MI on business, they never asked for a passport. BTW - Got a MA inspection sticker before I left w/sticker Hoosiers.
