Thanks! I did not know that this was a particular problem for small brakes, but that's what seems to happen, judging from the brownish-cloudy stuff in my catcher bottle. Will continue to bleed each time unitl I get fresh, clear fluid.

And, for that reason, use the Motul. It works fine in my Mazdaspeed3 (3400 lbs!!) with carbotech XP 8 or XP10 pads. No fade.

By the way, I don't need a transponder, do I?

Thanks! Kai

No transponder. we use a triple-redundant electronic system of three stopwatches and three precision fingers.

Anyone have a guess if my FF will need a muffler for the next event? I've never run one, so don't have any idea about this....

Would a 90 degree elbow on the end of my tailpipe, pointed up, be enough? It's really not a loud car...

I wouldn't sweat it too much. The track hasn't bitched about my two stroke, and I have annoyed pretty much everyone on the track with me and in the paddock.

Mine passes with no issues. Even passed Tremblant, and they are anal about noise. Have fun! I'm assuming that the FF stood for Factory Five and not Ford Focus :)

Thanks for the info, John. In this case FF stand for Formula Ford. It's not really a loud car, but I'm a little worried about it. I have no idea if I do something if it will require re-jetting.

The other approach might be if I knew where the microphone was, perhaps I could try to stay away from it? Worst case, you could do a 360 and keep the pipe pointed away, but that might draw attention though... :)

My Formula E fails the SCCA test with 102 dB but a 90 degree to the left drops it to 93 dB. The SCCA always measures at the outside of turn 10 so the 90 degree needs to point to the left. I think Formula Ford is quieter and I never had a problem in '00, '01 with my Club Ford but I think the limit was 103 dB then.

COM does not perform measurements. Rarely the track will come around and test and who knows where or with what method.

Formula ford never came to mind! :) In that case, it can't be any louder than say, a winged Honda 2000, can it?
