The Pinto:light, sorta. Agile? I guess you have never driven one! I think a dump truck handles better.
I guess you can make anything fast(er). Like my Focus...

Pinto?

Hey hey!! Easy on the Pintos! I drove the forerunner of the Pinto, a Falcon with a mighty 160 cu in 6 cylinder at the old Bryar Motor Sports Park back in the mid 1970's. Welded up some water pipe for a "roll bar", tore out every bit of interior, welded in a plastic seat like you find in a cafeteria, installed a lap belt (car didn't have belts from the factory), put on a big right front tire and wheel, ran a piece of flex pipe from the exhaust manifold out the fender well and loaded into the back of a dump truck for trips to the track.
What hoot that was!

That Falcon was neither light or agile.I stand by my statement.

I guess tech was a bit lax back then...

I can just imagine the unloading part of that exercise.

Bombs away! hehehe.. I had a friend who also used a dump truck to haul his car to the drags. He forgot the ramps one day..it was comical watching him try to dump...I mean unload his car as close to a banking as he possibly could.Someone finally let him use their ramps. Talk about low budget racing, but he sure was fast!

Just to add a little update. I bought a HJC AR10 helmet, and was wearing it at NHMS. I can still touch the left side bar with it, but it offered more clearance than the G Force hybrid, so it is a step in the right direction. As soon I decide what the best seat position is for me, I'll remove the slider and fixed mount it to gain a little more clearance.
