Wow, mine did the same thing at NHMS and I thought it was vibration... At MT it worked well until my time trial lap...
So gafer tape next time :P

They will also shut off if the case is pressed too hard on the side for the same reason, momentary connection loss. This was found out by using a remote camera with the recorder inside a padded box. I used cardboard shims around the battery, but a turn of tape would be easier.
